School Yearbooks on CD Everyone would like to have a school yearbook
with photos of their ancestors, but yearbooks are very scarce.
One way to make them available to more people is to scan them and save
them to CD. If you can view jpg files on you computer, you already have
the necessary software. Information on where to download a free
viewer is also included.

This wonderful old annual has been scanned and copied to CD . The annual from which the CD was made was loaned to me and one student photo had been cut out of the senior class photos, and one out of the junior class when the annual was scanned, but the two students are pictured elsewhere in clubs or activities pages. The 60+ pages have been saved as jpg files for your convenience in viewing the CD. All the faculty are pictured, with interesting notes about their
personality and teaching style. Take a look
at some sample pages:

Yearbook Staff
(Images on the CD are clearer and larger.) Faculty members: C. E. Dudley, Miss Mary Crittendon Hickman, Miss Georgia McElwain, Miss Annie Cato, Miss Eliza Ann Porter, Miss Ruth Brown, Miss Margaret Dudley, Miss Dovie Anderson, Miss Fern Stokes, Miss Hazel Fawcett, Miss Mary Mothershead. The eleven Seniors in the graduating class all have nicknames such as "Gravy Legs", "Pigmy", "Baby Vamp", "Queen Dido", and "Possum". The class history gives a lot more information on the class, and notes that Elton Coggins should have been graduating with them, but drowned while ice skating during their Sophomore year, and his picture is included. Graduating seniors were Adrian Hamby, Edna O'Bryant, Aubin Higgins, Mary Lou Ashby, Cecil Barnett, Florence Brown, Elizabeth Rash, Guy Tresch, Beatrice Long, Dorothy Offutt, and Virgie Lee Veazey. Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen, and eighth grade students are pictured, as well as photos of clubs, athletics, and activities. The original owner has written in some of the girl's married names, and identified most the photos. There is a list of all the previous graduates of Earlington High School from 1913 to 1920.
